Director of University Honors
University Honors (UH) is the largest living-learning program in the Honors College at the University of Maryland, enrolling approximately 450 first-year students each fall and taking them through a 15-credit program of study over their first two years. With housing, classrooms, and program office space in the Heritage Community, UH sits at the heart of campus and is an attractive academic option for talented students entering UMD.
UH offers a dynamic, cutting edge curriculum that delivers on the Honors College’s commitment to help talented students put their academic capabilities in service of the public good. Students take classes in interdisciplinary clusters such as “Butterfly Effects,” “Health Check,” and “Change the Narrative,” alongside theory and practice tracks and seminars that give students opportunities to synthesize their learning. These clusters and tracks bring together faculty across disciplines, some of whom are appointed in academic departments and some of whom are appointed full-time in UH.
UH offers a rich co-curricular learning environment that features opportunities for study abroad, professional development, independent research, and community building. The Director manages a team of six full-time staff and collaborates to manage approximately 25 full and part-time faculty who create these curricular and co-curricular experiences. The position is a 12-month, 50% faculty appointment.

- Current appointment as a faculty member at the University of Maryland
