Ann Smith
Assistant Dean

Ann C. Smith serves as Assistant Dean in the Office of Undergraduate Studies. She works with curriculum development and assessment for general education. She also oversees the Carillon Communities Living Learning Program, a joint venture between the Office of Undergraduate Studies and the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Previously as an instructor in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics since 1978, she was responsible for a large enrollment general microbiology course and served as Undergraduate Program Director. She has worked with discipline based education projects leading to several peer reviewed publications supported by the National Science Foundation and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Ann received her Ph.D. in Microbiology at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.
