Annual Induction Ceremony

A new PBK inductee poses for a celebratory photo

Gamma of Maryland Phi Beta Kappa’s Spring Induction Ceremony is where invited students are officially initiated into the society. Students are honored by the chapter’s executive board and other notable UMD administrators and Phi Beta Kappa members; they also receive their official certificate of membership and learn more about Phi Beta Kappa and the outstanding liberal arts and sciences research being done at the University of Maryland, College Park. Participation in the ceremony is not required to complete membership but is an excellent way for students and their loved ones to take the time to acknowledge this milestone accomplishment.

Initiates should refer to their Phi Beta Kappa invitation packet for information regarding how to RSVP to the Induction Ceremony. If you are unable to attend, we will mail your certificate to your provided local address. Please contact pbk@umd.edu with any questions or concerns.
