Key into Public Service Program and Scholarship
Phi Beta Kappa’s Key into Public Service Program and Scholarship highlights the wide range of opportunities for arts, humanities, natural science, social science, and mathematics majors to pursue rewarding careers in local, state, and federal government. This initiative awards $5,000 scholarships and opportunities for networking and job training to up to 20 sophomore and junior liberal arts and sciences students interested in pursuing public service careers. Phi Beta Kappa membership is not required.

Since the Key into Public Service program began in 2020, UMD has been excited to have two winners, Isha Yardi in 2021 and Justin Fox in 2022, both of whom went on to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa when they were seniors.

Know that wherever you relocate, there is likely a Phi Beta Kappa Association for you to connect with other members. Our two closest associations to College Park are the D.C. Area Phi Beta Kappa Association and the Baltimore Phi Beta Kappa Association.
